Business process automation, or BPA, is the strategy a business uses to automate processes in order to contain costs. It consists of integrating applications, restructuring labour resources and using software applications throughout the organization. (Wikipeadia) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_process_automation
All companies to a degree use some sort of BPA the actual amount they use will depend on the industry they are in and the number of people they employ. As an organisation grows the number of processes needed to keep every one in the loop also changes. Often businesses find that their processes are disjointed and cobbled together as their business grows. They then find they are in a situation where they are too busy to take a step back and start again or often their staff are resistant to change. A major factor can be they think the price will be too high or be too disruptive.
